Bloomfield College has announced Phil Delgado as head softball coach. Delgado returns to the Bears after previously serving as assistant coach at Bloomfield College from 2004-08.

“We are excited to have Phil rejoin the Bloomfield College Athletics family,” Athletic Director, Sheila Wooten, said. “His leadership and strong presence will certainly help take the program in the right direction. He understands the culture here and knows the importance of teaching our student-athletes how to be successful on and off the field.”

Delgado was an assistant coach at William Paterson University in 2017-18. Previously, he was the head softball coach at Montclair (2014-16) and Morristown Beard (2013-14) High School, as well as the assistant varsity football coach at Millburn High School (2012-13). Prior to that, Delgado was the head of baseball and softball performance at Sports University in Fairfield from 2006-11.

"I've gotten to know a lot of really good coaches in New Jersey," Delgado said to NorthJersey.com. "And now, I get the chance to possibly recruit some of the excellent players that I've seen play high school ball to come to Bloomfield College. "I'm off and running with recruiting for 2019. It will be a wonderful challenge and one I plan to embrace. I'm living the dream. "

He has been the owner and operator of Prodigy Training Sports Facility since 2011. Delgado attended William Paterson (2002-05) after studying at Bergen Community College (2000-01).
