Bloomfield College Professor Announced as Performer at Brownstone Poets’ Event

Brownstone Poets will present George Held, Pamela Hughes, Claudia Serea, and Anton Yakovlev on Saturday, March 4 in Brooklyn Heights. The event will kick off at 2:30 p.m. at Park Plaza RestaurantPark Plaza RestaurantPark Plaza restaurant.

Bloomfield College’s own Pamela Hughes has been announced as one of the main performers of the evening. An MFA graduate of Brooklyn College, Hughes now teaches creative writing courses at the College and is the editor of Narrative Northeast, a literary and arts magazine that supports diverse voices and visions, as well as the arts and the environment.

Her poetry has appeared in publications including Canary, the Brooklyn Review, Ellipsis, Isotope: A Journal of Science and Nature Writing, Literary Mama, PANK, the Paterson Literary Review, the Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow, and Thema.

Founded in 2005, Brownstone Poets is a Brooklyn-based literary series that customarily hosts events on the first Saturday of each month in Brooklyn Heights. The events include an Open Mic component that usually features two readers. Patricia Carragon hosts the Brownstone Poets and is the editor-in-chief of its annual anthology.

A $5 donation is suggested and the evening will also include open mic. Full details are available here.
