Pompeo joins the Bears after coaching as the assistant men's (2016-2017) and women’s (2015-2017) volleyball coach at Kean University, his alma mater.

Previously, Pompeo spent two seasons (2013-2015) at Sage College of Albany as the head men's volleyball coach where he earned 17 wins and guided three players to All-Skyline Conference honors.

During his first tenure at Kean, Pompeo was primarily in charge of opponent scouting, recruiting and match preparation, while helping lead the team to a 26-8 record. Kean also assisted the Cougars to a Skyline Conference championship, as well as the program's first NCAA tournament victory.

He continued to coach at the high school level, most recently assisting at Niskayuna High School and leading the team to a program-best, 18-6 record.

Pompeo graduated from Kean University in 2013 with a B.A. in English. During his own collegiate career, as a member of the men's volleyball team at Kean University, Pompeo served as the team captain in 2011 and 2012.
